Started in one room in a Negro minister's home in 1879, Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C. has grown today into a full-fledged educational center with a student body of more than 400.
One of the 31 colleges and universities aided by the United Negro College Fund, Livingstone College is proudest of its Natural Science Division which has graduated several hundred men and women who are now serving as prominent doctors, dentists, laboratory technicians in hospitals all over the country, and trained technical workers with the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Standards.
