Female Employment in England.—The Londoners are making a great effort to do something for the ladies, to get them employment at work hitherto monopolized by the male portion of society. A great many titled people and the benevolent Florence Nightingale are at the head of the movement, and already several city firms have employed women book-keepers among those recommended by the society. Two theatres have taken them as box-keepers, and the London Electric Telegraph is to be worked entirely by them. Short of an association for marrying them all to handsome husbands with £500 a year, this is an admirable way of making a provision for the ladies.
