ABOUT ten days ago, we got some newspapers from the editor of the Aurora. He requested an exchange. We have, accordingly sent him the two last numbers of the Recorder; and, as he sends us three papers per week, the exchange is in point of bulk, much in our favor.
The Aurora of July 1. has commenced a violent attack upon the Recorder. We do not know precisely the reason of this, unless it be that we, some time ago, gave a rebuff to Duane's friend, and associate, Mr. Cheetham, the advertised breaker up of letters. The one stole and broke up letters. The other printed them, knowing that they were stolen. We said that, in England, Cheetham would, for his share of the business, infallibly have swung. Perhaps Mr. Duane thought that this censure might, in some measure, be applied to himself. He was probably in the right. His invectives against the Recorder, if they operate at all, must be more likely to serve than injure it. And till we have time and patience to give him a dressing, he is extremely welcome to rail and falsify, as much, and as fast as he pleases.
