Full Text

CONGRESS.

But little of general interest has been transacted in either House of Congress the past week. In the Senate, some discussion has been had upon Mr. McDuffie's anti-tariff resolutions, and upon the bill for refunding the fine imposed upon Gen. Jackson by Judge Hall of Louisiana.

The House has been occupied in discussing the First Rule of Order, and also the reports of the Committee on Elections, in regard to the members who have been elected in violation of the law of last Congress.

There appears to be little doubt but that these members will be permitted to retain their seats, despite the violation of law.
