MCANDREWS MAN SERIOUSLY HURT ON MOTORCYCLE

Carney Ramey, 26, employe of the Hale Service Station at McAndrews, Ky., was reported in critical condition at the Veterans hospital in Huntington Monday as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Friday night near Pikeville.

Ramey is the husband of the former Juanita Wolford, local C. & P. telephone operator. He sustained a fractured skull, three fractures of the right leg and two fractures of the right arm, relatives reported, and has not yet regained consciousness.

The accident occurred about 10 p. m. on the Pem Friend curve on Highway 23, eight or 10 miles west of Pikeville, where his motorcycle left the road and plunged over an embankment and into the creek bed. Ramey was removed to the Pikeville Methodist hospital and later transferred to Huntington.

Cause of the accident has not been determined.
