All farmers. Farm Bureau members, Grange members and other organizations interested in farming have been invited to a special meeting to be held in the community building at South Solon Monday evening. September 9.
The meeting is being called in a move to acquaint area farmers with the nationally known Simmermon Farm Plan, as presented by Ralph Simmermon, South Solon, to national farm leaders and agricultural interests in the United States legislative bodies.
The plan, to be explained, is based on production, transportation and exchange, according to the outline prepared by Simmermon, a leading Madison County farmer.
The exchange problem, that of being able to exchange farm products for par value, is currently the major handicap to the farmers, and the Simmermon plan discussed this in greatest detail.
The plan has already been studied by leading agriculture and economic figures in the nation, and will be discussed further in the 1958 session of Congress, according to reports.
