CHESTER, Pa., June 8.
A large and enthusiastic meeting was held here on Saturday night, to hear a narrative of events in relation to the outrages in Kansas, from Chas. S. Bowen, attached to the Congressional Committee of Investigation as clerk.—Strong resolutions were passed against the Missouri Compromise, prohibiting slavery in Kansas, and expressing sympathy with the free State men in their trials and privations in the cause of freedom, and denouncing the attempt to murder Sumner on the floor of the Senate.
