Editor Town Topics:
The Republican party may be to blame for this financial mess, but I don't think so, for the blind never could have been elected if not for Free Love Myers, who was a Democratic senator stumping the state for Dixon. So I say don't blame the blind, for they see not, but put the blame where it belongs—on Myers and the Democratic party.
The Nonpartisan party under Wheeler would ruin the state; that's what they said. The present governor and attorney general were to be the saviors, and in order to be sure the state would be safe Myers and a majority of the Democratic party voted the Republican ticket. You remember it, don't you?
Four years ago it was the bolsheviks, free lovers, B. K. Wheeler, etc., they were saving the state from. I wonder who they will save it from next fall? Better commence to hatch up some menace. Next fall it will be the Farmer-Labor party, and it will be strong too, possibly stronger than the Nonpartisans, and they will not steal any party this time, as the Democrats claimed then. They will be on a ticket of their own, and I think both Republican and Democratic parties will be worried just a little.

Main Argument
the financial mess should be blamed on senator myers and the democratic party for supporting republicans, not the blind or republicans; the democrats previously voted republican to counter threats like the nonpartisan party, and next the farmer-labor party will challenge both major parties.
