Audrey Loftus, who heads the University of Alaska campus office for the Alumni Assn., is in Nome for a few days making recordings of historical value. She will be interviewing many of the early settlers here so that some of their experiences of the pioneer era may be preserved permanently. The first recording will be made by Charles Jones.

This type of research was started many years ago by the Lathrop radio station in Fairbanks and the records made at that time were the first in such a program.
