By him we learn, that 26 Store Ships were arrived there from England, and but 4 from the Continent, when he came away. tho' many were daily expected. -- That the Garrison were well and in high Spirits, and in no Fear of the Enemy. -- That several arm'd Cutters were sent up the River above Quebec to make Discoveries and harass the Enemy ; and that the necessary Preparations were making for the Garrison to march in Pursuit of the Enemy, as soon as the Troops from Louisbourg arrived.
- That the People belonging to two Vessels from this Place. and one from Halifax, were got to Quebec, who gave an Account that their Vessels were taken by the French and Indians, who came off from the Shore in Boats, as they were going up the River, just above Gaspee.
In the above Vessel came Dispatches for His Excellency General Amherst, from Governor Murray at Quebec.
