State Teachers Institute.

The Teachers Institute for this county opened in the High School room of this city on Monday afternoon, with an attendance of 130. The daily program is as follows:

9:00 - Opening Exercises and Patriotic Songs
9:15 - "Astronomy and Geology" Florence Neel
9:50 - "Reading." E. R. Shepard
10:25 - Recess
10:35 - "Arithmetic." C. W. G. Hyde
11:05 - "Pedagogy." E. R. Shepard
11:35 - "Blackboard Writing," C. W. G. Hyde
12:00 - Intermission.

AFTERNOON.
1:45 - "History," C. W. G. Hyde
2:20 - "Language," E. R. Shepard
2:55 - "Psychology" C. W. G. Hyde
3:30 - Recess.
3:40 - "School Economy," E. R. Shepard
4:15 - General Exercises

The institute is under the general direction of Superintendent Belden, who has had some new subjects introduced upon the program. The attendance is not as large as last year, as a number have been excused to attend the institutes at Rochester and Preston. The attendance thus far has been very regular and the attention good. Dr. L. B. Sperry will lecture before the institute on Wednesday evening, in the court room.

Subject: "Brain and Nerve." A patriotic entertainment will be given by the institute Thursday evening in the court room.
