Full Text

A Letter From Ashley County.

Dear Friends:

Will you move over just a wee bit and let another Arkansas farm girl come in as I haven't seen any letters from Ashley county. I will try my luck. As it is customary I will describe myself. I am five feet tall, have blonde hair and blue eyes. I weigh 95 lbs. I am twelve years old. Have I a twin? I go to Harris School. At the rural track meet and contest given at the county seat, March 9, 1929, we won second to the best school in the county. I won a gold medal on letter writing. My sister also won a gold medal on spelling, and two blue ribbons and one second place in athletics. I am in the 8th Grade. I hope Mr. W. B. will have gone on a trip around the world. Or, if he is at home he will be asleep, and not eat the only letter from Ashley County. A new cousin,

ROSE MAXWELL,
Crossett, Ark.
