CREDIT OFFICER CONFERS WITH TRIBAL BOARD

Steven Bingham, area credit officer for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, was at the Fort Peck Agency Monday and Tuesday to meet with the board on the tribal credit program. Any agreement worked out at this meeting will require Billings approval before it goes into effect.

The proposed agreement calls for a Credit Bureau, composed of three persons, elected by the board for one, two and three terms. These persons will be tribal members, not committeemen, with records above reproach, who have had more than eight years prior experience in farming. All problems in credit will be handled by the board, except those involving credit board members, over which the executive board will take jurisdiction.
