PROTRACTED MEETINGS.—During the last five or six weeks, protracted meetings have been held in the different churches in Winchester, and the exercises generally, as far as we have observed, have been well attended. A series of religious services, in the Loudoun street Presbyterian Church, have been highly interesting, and resulted in a large number of additions to the church. A similar meeting is now in progress in the Episcopal church, until recently vacant, but now under the pastoral charge of the Rev. Mr. Rooker, having commenced on Friday last, and expected to be continued over the next Sabbath, when it is expected a number will be added, by confirmation, to the communion of the church.—These are indications for good, and we rejoice to witness their increase in the churches generally. We need all the reform we can have in this particular; and every effort to produce it, will be properly appreciated, judging from the increased attention these services has received.
