WANT A DRY PLANK

Texas Prohibitionists Try to Put It Across in Democrat Platform.

Houston, Tex., Aug. 7.--A caucus of prohibition forces to campaign for the inclusion of a "submission" plank in the state platform, and a meeting of the state executive committee was the pre-gathering program today of Texas Democrats assembled here for the state convention tomorrow.

Caucuses in hotel lobbies were discussing today the advisability of including a plank in the state platform concerning the federal child labor bill, now before the senate. Political leaders said if such a plank were included it undoubtedly would declare against the passage of that measure.
