LAUNDRYMEN MEET
State Association Convenes at Harper for Two Days' Session.

GATHERING REPRESENTATIVE ONE
Tri-City Association Will Entertain Delegates While Here.

The eighth annual convention of the Illinois Laundrymen's association convened at the Harper house at 10 o'clock this morning for a two days session.
After appointing a committee on credentials and attending to other routine matters a recess was taken to visit some of the laundries of Davenport.
There were about fifty laundrymen from all parts of the state present at the morning's meeting, but others came in during the day and it is expected that there will be between 75 and 100 here in time to participate in tomorrow's proceedings. The headquarters are maintained at the Harper and the meetings are being held there.

Main Session Tomorrow

This afternoon's session, which began at 2 o'clock, was devoted for the most part to the consideration of miscellaneous business with the reports of the officers. This evening there will be a reception at the Harper and a short session at which an essay by E. V. Yockey, of Ottawa, upon "The Wise Laundryman" will be read. Then the guests will sit down to a banquet tendered by the Tri-City Laundrymen's association.
The proceedings tomorrow morning will be of greatest interest. In addition to reports from the standing committees and the nomination of officers there will be three essays read. Joseph Holmes, of Galesburg, will treat of "Laundry Machinery;" W. I. White, of Joliet, "Agency Business In and Out of Town," and G. F. Simmons, past president of the Laundrymen's National association, of "Laundry Business in General."
In the afternoon there will be election and installation of officers, selection of the next meeting place and a visit to Rock Island arsenal as guests of the Tri-City association.
