Chester County Jurist Sends Resignation to Governor Brumbaugh

West Chester, Pa., April 1.-President Judge Joseph Hemphill, of the Chester county court, has sent his resignation to Governor Brumbaugh to take effect at once. He retires because of ill health.

Judge Hemphill is nearly 73 years old and has been on the bench 25 years. He was admitted to the Chester county bar in 1864.

His successor is expected to be appointed soon by the Governor and there is much interest here as to who the Governor will name.
