Freshmen at Alaska's University Rank High

COLLEGE—'Any university in the continental United States would be pleased to receive the University of Alaska freshmen.'

That's the conclusion of Dr. William K. Keller, head of the department of education, reached this week after tabulating the 90th percentile scores of freshmen who entered this fall.

'The median percentile score of all freshmen tested is 54,' Dr. Keller explained. 'This is four points above the median score for freshmen in regular four-year institutions.

The median score of 50 was derived from tests given approximately 40,000 incoming freshmen in four-year colleges all over the country.
