Amateur Hour Editor Gets Blanks

The Junior Circle Amateur programs scheduled to begin January 1937 promise to be an outlet for talent which will also afford up to date and worthwhile entertainment for those who will compose the audience, which may be radio, auditorium or both.

Last week brought application for the Amateur programs from several members, old and new. Among those whose applications have reached the Amateur Editor's desk are Winston Calloway, new member, Laura Lee Peppers, old member, Suzanne Johnson and Anna Bailey, both new members.

Talent is invited among young folk up to 18 years of age. Both popular and classic music will be considered, dancing, playing of musical instruments, singing group, such as duets, trios, quartets, choruses, and anything relating to the song or dance that applicants may think is good. Applications should be mailed in at once in order to get assigned for an audition. The programs will begin the early part of January and will be presented monthly, and perhaps, according to the number of applicants more often.

Young people who would like to try for a spot on these programs, but are not Junior Circle members may send in blank along with a membership blank to the Junior Circle. Membership in the Junior Circle is the only requisite for entering these contests.

MISS RENA BROOKS INJURED

On account of an injury received to her ankle, Miss Rena Brooks, a leading figure in Junior Circle affairs, is confined indoors indefinitely. Miss Brooks who joined the Junior Circle last summer, immediately became a moving force in the entire organization, especially to the West Side to which group she added new enthusiasm.

She has been editing most of the Junior Circle page for sometime, and inspite of her recent injury sent in to the Editor her regular copy. Miss Brooks resides with her parents at 829 Beckwith Street, SW and Junior Circle members will be welcomed to make brief visits to Miss Brooks, and letters and cards of convalescence may be mailed.

Though Miss Brooks injury is regretted by her many friends of the Junior Circle and out of the Circle, it is also known that her injury could have been worse. It is also hoped that she will recover in a short while.
