By advices lately received from Europe, we are informed, that the disputes so long subsisting between the Emperor of Germany and the United Provinces, were growing fast to a crisis; and that, before this time, it is more than probable, hostilities have actually taken place between those powers, in which many of the kingdoms of Europe may be under the necessity of taking an active part.
A letter from a gentleman in Amsterdam to his friend in New-York, concludes thus-- "The insurance upon Dutch vessels from America to Holland, is twenty per cent."
The present rupture between the Emperor of Germany and the States of Holland, has, it seems, engrossed the attention of all the political writers in Europe: The foreign papers contain little else than paragraphs on that subject.
