MODEL DAIRY DESTROYED BY FRIDAY BLAZE

Platteville—A large, well equipped dairy barn, built on the Walter Kliebenstein farm, three years ago was destroyed by fire Friday night.

The fire was discovered in the upper portion of the barn about 8 o'clock. Mr. Kliebenstein rescued his dairy herd and calves from the basement and telephoned for the city fire department. A high wind blowing from the south at the time is all that saved the home as the barn was a seething furnace when the firemen arrived on the scene.

Dairy equipment, hay and grain stored in the barn, and the structure are a loss, but partly covered by insurance. It is believed the fire started from crossed electric wires.
