WASHINGTON, D. C.-(NNPA)-
Secretary of Labor Lewis B. Schwellenbach last Monday denounced race and religious discrimination.
Addressing the Jewish Labor Committee at the Jewish Community Center here, Mr. Schwellenbach said the Labor Department "has a mandate from Congress to promote the welfare of all wage earners, regardless of race, creed, color or national origin."
"I can and do proclaim the eternal justice of your cause," Mr. Schwellenbach told his Jewish audience. "I can and do denounce the evil of discrimination whether based on Color, race, creed or national origin," he said.
