We hear from Farmingtown, that a well dress'd, likely woman about 22 years old, who was travelling on foot, with an infant male child, about two months old, in her arms, stopt at a tavern in that town last Tuesday Evening, where she procured lodgings for herself and child, and about 9 o'clock they went to bed - - - the next morning the child was found in bed alone the woman having absconded in the night ; and through the most diligent search has since been made for her, no intelligence can be procured where she came from, or where he is gone. The select-men of that town have taken proper care of the child.
