Extract of a Letter from a gentleman in Boston to his correspondent in West-Liberty, dated July 14, 1795.
"Yesterday arrived in port the ship Intelligence, of 70 tons burthen, captain Information, 46 days from London, laden with Treaties of Amity, Commerce and Navigation. Capt. I. informs, that July 4th, in lat. 35. 37. he spoke admiral Jay's senatorial squadron from Boston, bound to the West-Indies, consisting of the sloop Extraordinary, of 70 tons, captain Envoy, the sloop Negotiation, of 53 tons, captain Treaty, the shallop Commerce, of 35 tons, captain Navigation, laden with the natural right of a free people, viz INDEPENDENCE, under convoy of two frigates commanded by captains Pitt and Plenipotentiary, all well."
