The Boston Times has an editorial upon the election which will take place in this State, on the first Wednesday in April, and says, if the Whigs carry the State, it will virtually be a reversal of the action of the General Assembly in declaring the sentence of the Supreme Court in the case of Dorr, null and void. This is the point, and we are glad to find one intelligent Democratic paper frank enough to avow one of the real issues in the coming election. Let the law and order men of Rhode Island understand this matter, and let them feel and know even from a Democratic paper out of the State, that the question of Dorrism is at issue in the approaching election. The Dorr-ites did all that they could in the General Assembly during the past year; and if they can retain the power the coming year, they will do still more. They will carry through their movement, to alter the Constitution--they will unseat the Supreme Court--they will pay Dorr and all his insurgent army the most extravagant sums for their valiant services and extraordinary sufferings during the rebellion of 1842. This, then, is one of the issues; are the people prepared to place the Democratic party in power for another year, when it is well known what they will do? We think not, for the conservative men of the State do not desire to witness the scenes of '42 again, even under the pretended guise of law.
