HUNDRED FOLKS WILL GATHER AT BANQUET FOR BOOSTING FAIR.

Ellis Presides As Toastmaster Of Event.

FAIR COMMITTEE BEGINS CAMPAIGN The Big Fair Is Now Under Way By Boosters.

The feast is spread, and the plans laid for the banquet Monday night at the Windsor Hotel in the interest of the Third Agricultural District fair. The occasion has provoked much interest, and one hundred Americus people will gather around the banquet board to discuss, boost and plan for the Third Agricultural District fair in Americus on October 23-28th.

Julius H. Otto, of Macon, president of the Georgia State fair, will be a guest of honor, and deliver a short address. "Do Fairs Pay?"

The fair committee from the Chamber of Commerce handled the tickets, distributing them among the citizens of Americus who held first interest in all events, tending toward the betterment and improvement of Americus and Sumter county.

George R. Ellis, chairman of the fair committee, will be the toastmaster of the occasion, and the following short addresses will be made:

"The Benefits to the Farming Interests"—Judge J. A. Hinson.

"Men Pull Together"—Rev. J. A. Thomas.

"Co-Operation by the City Government"—Mayor Lee G. Council.

How the Fair Will Benefit the Banks—Crawford Wheatley.

"How the Merchant Will be Benefited"—Lee Allen.

"How Fairs Serve the Use of Better Farm Machinery"—John Sheffield.

"How the Nineteen Counties of This District Talk Fair"—J. G. Oliver, Agricultural Agent.

"Why We Should Have a Fair"—Frank Lanier.

"Banker's Idea; How the Fair Encourages Growing of More Home Supplies"—Frank Sheffield.

"My View of the Fair as a Commercial Proposition"—President Carr S. Glover.

"Educational Advantages"—J. E. Mathis, Supt. of Americus Schools.

"Do Fairs Pay?" Hon. Julius H. Otto, President Georgia State Fair.

"How This Fair Will Encourage Development in the Third District"—J. M. Collum, principal Third District A. and M. College.
