Full Text

Districting.—It is probable there will be little or no opposition to the re-enactment of the law districting the state for the choice of Members of Congress. This law, which the Whigs so unwisely repealed during the ever memorable session of 1834, will now probably receive the sanction of the federal party. Their principles are slipped on and off too easy, and those who one year ago in the plenitude of their power, swept from the statute book the act which permitted every section of the state to be represented according to the wishes of a majority in that section, will now be ready to receive that justice which they had intended should be denied the democrats.—Hartford Times.
