The House of Burgesses of Virginia, met at Williamsburg in the beginning of June, came to several warm Resolutions relative to the Stamp Duty imposed on America, in which they declared, That, agreeable to their several Charters, no Taxes are to be imposed on them without the consent of their General Assembly: and concluded with resolving,

" That any person who shall, by speaking or writing, maintain, that any person or persons, other than the General Assembly of that Colony, have any right or power to impose any taxation whatever on the people there, shall be deemed enemies to that his Majesty's Colony."
