Blow for Hyde's Defense

KANSAS CITY, MO., May 4. - The defense in the trial of Dr. B. C. Hyde, for the alleged poisoning of Colonel Thomas H. Swope and members of his family, suffered a hard blow to-day, when Judge Latshaw overruled the objection of Attorney Walsh and admitted the testimony of Professor Walter S. Haines, given late yesterday.

The ruling admits into the record of the case the stating of the State's theory that secondary tests for cyanide established proof of the presence of poison in the bodies of Colonel Swope and Anna H. Swope.
