STOCKTON, Cal., Jan. 30. —The cross levee which separated the lower division of Roberts island from the middle division gave way to-day, allowing the water to cover 35,000 acres of land, of which 13,000 was in wheat. The levee which surrounds the island broke at the middle section several days ago, and flooded the middle section, which comprised 12,000 acres of grain. This brought a heavy pressure of water against the cross levee, which was being constantly strengthened, but as it proved, without avail. The most of this inundated land is owned by the Glasgow California Land company, and made up of foreign capitalists. The entire losses through the inundation is estimated at $600,000.
