Dickens Stars For "Devils" Last Sat.

Playing a hard fought game of basketball here Saturday night the Red Devils cage team held the fast traveling Quality Shop quint of Portsmouth, Va., to a 36-45 score.

The visitors scheduled to "do things" in a scoring way met a "snag" in their return match with the Devils as the locals showed the best defensive form seen this season.

At the half way mark, the locals were just two points behind, the score being 19-21 in favor of the Tide-Water leaders and City Champions of Portsmouth.

Buddy Dunn, cagy little forward of the visitors, tossed 18 points into the basket.

Fletcher Dickens was the locals whole show ranging 22 points with Cheek credited with 6.

Captain Nig Lee, and Sidney Weed were also ace performers for the visiting quint.
