CHERRY CREEK ROAD TO
BE CLOSED FOR WEEKS

The Cherry Creek road, which has been closed continually since the storm six weeks ago, will remain in the same unused condition for two and possibly three weeks more. This is the opinion of John Bell, foreman for Arthur Smith at the Campbell ranch, in Steptoe valley.

Mr. Bell came in from there on horseback Thursday and returned by the same conveyance. He found the road unbroken by wheeled vehicles and a great deal of snow in the flat for several miles north of East Ely. There are many huge drifts near the Lusetti place north of Heusser mountain.

Mr. Bell and his help, consisting chiefly of C. B. Chapline, have had a hard task feeding cattle there this winter in the deep snow. Recently they broke a road with a six-horse team to Steptoe station, six miles from the ranch, in hauling supplies and got stalled in the drifts for several hours.
