Dabney Crews Wins
Take It Easy Race

Dabney Crews, of Buckingham Central High School, copped first prize in the Ruritan Club sponsored "Take It Easy Race" economy run last Tuesday.

Crews drove a 1954 Chevrolet over the 52 mile course averaging 48.44 plus ten miles per gallon. His prize was a $50 wrist watch.

Hot on his heels was Betty Bruce in a 1953 Ford. Her average was 48.26 plus ten miles per gallon. Bobby Orange was third with 47 plus ten miles per gallon.

Roy Duty finished fourth followed by Jimmie Blanks, Corson Spencer, Earl Seay, Temp Hanes and Jimmy Dunnavant.

Crews will represent Buckingham in the 14 county Lynchburg area contest Oct. 1.
