We are in daily expectation of hearing that an exchange of flags has taken place at Pensacola and the other Spanish posts in Florida. We understand the emigration from the southern states to the Floridas, and more particularly to Pensacola, has been very great; many are anxious to establish themselves in business of some kind or other; some, who have been harassed by consumptions and chronic diseases for years, have adopted an idea that the moment they set their foot on the sands of Pensacola, all complaints vanish; the sea breeze wafts disease of every kind back to the land from whence it sprang, and the instant the old superannuated dotard, who has been hobbling on crutches for half a century, inhales the salubrious breeze on entering the town, he throws away his crutch and becomes hale and sound at once, and, with all the vigor of sixteen, he struts into the city.

We sincerely hope that the expectations of all may be realized. But we cannot recommend the town to venders of law and retailers of whiskey, as we understand it is already overstocked.--Sun.
