The new, one-piece uniform gives the nurses more of an "officer appearance." It has a shorter and narrower lapel, the gold bars are worn on the shoulder instead of the lapel, a U. S. is worn on either collar and the insignia of the Nurse Corps, an "N" superimposed on a Caduceus, is worn on both lapels.
