We hear a fisherman is arrived at Marblehead who on the Banks of Newfoundland was in Company several Hours with Capt. Howland in a Snow from Newcastle for this Place and afterwards saw him chased by a Ship to whom he struck his colours and perceived their Boats to pass and repass several Times.

Should this Account prove to be any Thing more than Fisherman's News 'tis supposed the Vessel who took Capt. Howland was one of the French Frigates which was lately mentioned to have sailed from France in order for their securing of their Conquest at Newfoundland.
