New Board Selected By Head Of Commissioners; To Plan Public Works
Members of an Okanogan county planning council, to serve terms ranging from one to six years, were appointed last week by W. G. Malott, chairman of the board of county commissioners. The new board will cooperate with the state and regional councils, mapping out public works and developments for the county to cover a long period of years.
Members of the board include P. T. Harris, superintendent of the Chelan national forest, six-year term; Arthur Lund, Tonasket banker, five years; R. L. McNett, Omak president of the Biles-Coleman Lumber company, and H. A. Davis, county prosecuting attorney, four years; B. J. Woodard, Winthrop power man, and R. A. Downing, Brewster manager of the Washington Water Power company, three years; W. G. Malott, chairman of the board of commissions, and Rowland Harris, Okanogan merchant two years; and F. F. Corporon, Okanogan garageman, one year.
The new council, authorized for organization by a law passed at the last state legislature, is expected to take an important part in the new public works set-up. The group will meet as soon as all members have signified their willingness to serve, and a chairman will be elected.
