From the CRAFTSMAN.- London Sept. 6:
TO THE PRINTER.
Some of your correspondents having expressed desire to know the real state of the case, as to emoluments, honours and pensions (I beg pardon) provisions ; for that, it seems, is the actual word, which was applied in a late conference to Lord L-- and two other gentlemen, and which Mr. P denies to mean per sons, though he had refused to grant the former any office, and supposed that his brother would not continue the latter in any official department.
I beg leave to give the following list, which is authentic.
Earl of F--b--, 1000l. a year addition to the Salary of the Council.
Ditto, 400l. per ann. during life, when he quits that office.
Ditto, the reversion of an office of 2000l. per ann. for any two lives he shall name.
Earl of C--m, 1000l. as P...- S--., more than his brother had when he held that office.
Lord C--nn, 2000l. a year as equerry, being 1000l. more than usual.
A Tellership of the Exchequer for his son in reversion.
1500l. per annum pension on the Irish establishment, whenever he quits the seals.
An Ambassador Extraordinary to Russia, charge 10,000l. per annum.
A Commander in Chief with a Staff, 25l. per diem proposed to be the expense of that staff.
A pension of 1200l. per annum to Lord L--'s relation ; that and an Earldom being given to soften his late removal.
A sum, not exceeding 500,000l. it is confidently said, will be given to discharge the arrears of the C-- L--t.
How those arrears are increased, vide the preceding article:
120,000l. per annum to the brothers of a great Personage.
These are all the articles I can recollect, that from the sum of the new minister's oeconomy. It is not doubted, but, if difficulties arise, he will apply the same emoluments to others, which must ever endear him to the true friends of this country, and to every real lover of parsimony.
