Full Text

A Dublin News-Paper of August 10th, contains the following very extraordinary Article of false Intelligence, viz.

"That a Gentleman was arrived at Liverpool in Capt. Booker from N. York, who related, that on the 22d of July, the day he sailed, it was currently reported that the Mob in Boston, joined by more than 10,000 of the country people, had rose, and surprized Gov. Hutchinson in his bed, and obliged him to sign an instrument, whereby he abdicated the command of the province ; after which they confined him in his house under a strong guard, till his Majesty's order of recall, which was daily expected, should arrive. That they then elected a Council of ten persons, with the title of Administrators, who were vested with Vice royal powers, to prevent confusion."

--But the Paragraph Writer " hopes this News wants confirmation, as an act of that kind must cut off all hopes of reconciliation with the mother country, it being absolute rebellion to displace the King's chief Governor, and consequently render those brave assertors of freedom liable to the severest chastisement, by pursuing such desperate and unconstitutional methods of redress."
