Rev. C. S. Lucas closed his pastorate at the Christian Church Sunday night. A large crowd was present to hear his farewell sermon. During the two years and a half he had charge of the church he always commanded large audiences, and there is sincere regret over his departure. He is untiring in his work in the Master's cause, and the church here was greatly benefited in every way and built up during his stay. Brother Lucas left yesterday for Allegheny, Pa., to attend a reception to be tendered him by his church next Thursday from 1 to 10 p. m. He will hold a protracted meeting, make arrangements to remove his family and then return here for them the latter part of January.
