Mota Singh, a Hindu of Calipatria. pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless driving when arraigned before Judge J. Mayfield this morning. Sentence has been deferred until Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Another charge, one of driving a car while intoxicated is hanging over Singh's head. Whether or not this charge will be pressed was not made known today. Singh was arrested by Frank Oswalt, captain of the traffic police, on the Calexico highway. Judge Mayfield took time to denounce the continued breaking of traffic regulations this morning. "People whether they be of the lowest or highest caste must expect to suffer the consequences in this continued breaking of traffic regulations. It is no longer a question of ignorance of the laws. Every man or woman that drives a car today, knows the regulations governing driving sufficiently to tell whether he is doing right or wrong. It has now settled to a question of whether the motorist wants to obey the law or whether he wants to break it. Barring a few unavoidable accidents there is no reason for so many infractions. We owe one another these acts of courtesy on the road which the law demands."
