The Justices of the Peace.—Since the election, numerous errors are alleged to have been discovered in the return of votes cast for Justices of the Peace of the 5th District, by which it is claimed that Henry D. Birdsall, instead of Anthony Walter, is entitled to the certificates of election. The matter can be decided only by the Board of County Canvassers, which meet to-day to canvass the votes. It is also stated that the election for Justice of the Peace is made void and of no effect, by reason of the names of all the candidates having been printed on the State ticket instead of on the Judiciary ticket. Justices Fox and Ryder received a few votes, which were cast on a separate ticket. This will give them grounds for contesting the election in this respect.
