—Head Quarters, New-York, January 5th, 1764.
HIS Majesty has been graciously pleased to signify to the Commander in Chief his Royal Approbation of the Conduct and Bravery of Col. BOUQUET, and his Officers, and the Troops under his Command, in the two Attacks on the 5th and 6th of August, in which, notwithstanding the many Circumstances of Difficulty and Distress they laboured under they repelled and defeated the repeated Attacks of the Indians, and conducted their Convoy safe to Fort Pitt.
