School Masters Club Organized

The School Masters Club, composed of the twenty-six principals of Negro High Schools in Georgia, accredited by the Southern Association of Secondary Schools & Colleges was organized in November of 1953 at the Booker T. Washington High School. The organization was effected as a result of the thinking of Mr. Robert L. Cousins, Director of Negro Education and C. M. Richardson, Consultant Georgia secondary schools.

Its purpose is to provide opportunity for the members to deliberate and plan more effective means of improving the organization and administration of schools.

On March 29, 1954 at 10:00 a.m., at the new million dollar Spencer Senior High School, of Columbus, Georgia, built under the progressive leadership of Superintendent W. H. Shaw the Club will hold a one day conference in administrative leadership. Dr. Wesley J. Lyda, Director of the School of Education, Dr. Laurence Boyd, Director of Field Services and Dr. E. K. Weaver, Associate Professor, all of Atlanta University, will be the consultants.

Mr. C. W. DuVaul is principal of the new Spencer Senior High School and Mr. Harold Stinson, principal of Boggs Academy, is the elected chairman of the group.
