MORE EXTRAVAGANCE.—The Raleigh papers state that the halls of the Legislature are being re-carpeted with handsome material preparatory to the meeting of that body this month.
If we are not very much mistaken this same expense was incurred by authority of our rulers but a short time ago and it cannot be that it has so soon become unfit even for the use of carpet-baggers and corn-field hands.
Probably some more of our State officials wish to refit their private parlors with the cast-off carpets!
