Full Text

RHODE ISLAND,--Governor King has issued a proclamation, declaring the new Constitution to have been adopted and ratified by a majority of the qualified voters in the state, and that the same will become the supreme law on the first Tuesday in May next.

The Dorrites have not yet nominated a candidate for Governor in opposition to Gov. Fenner. The Providence Journal anticipates the election of the latter by a large majority. He is, or was a democrat, but is zealously supported by the whigs, or so many of them as belong to the "law and order" party. In short, national politics are lost sight of in the more absorbing questions relating to the internal affairs of the state.--Nat. Int.
