A few Days ago an Appellant Prebend of a Church near Doway paid the last Debt to Nature, and was buried with the usual Ceremonies; but the Bishop of Arras being inform'd of it, immediately caus'd him to be taken out of his Grave, and put into the Earth again (with his Head downwards) up to the Middle, and the Mould clos'd about him, leaving his Posteriors and Legs forking up above Ground, to the great Scandal of the Spectators; and all this the zealous Bishop did, because the poor Priest had not submitted to the Bull Unigenitus: But, unluckily for him, this scandalous and inhuman Action was committed in a Place that is under the Jurisdiction of the Parliament of Paris, and not under that of the Parliament of Doway. The Prebend's Relations not digesting so gross an Affront put upon their Family, address'd themselves to the Parliament of Paris for Satisfaction; and last Friday that illustrious Body assembled upon the Affair, of which they sent Notice to the first President le Peletier; but the President (who is now come over to the Court Party,) refus'd to go, and said that the Parliament ought not to meet without him, and that it belong'd to him alone to call them together. The Parliament irritated at this Answer, immediately resolv'd that they were a Parliament without him, that he was but Primus inter pares, and that they ought to make him come forthwith by Force; upon which he went, and after great Altercations, the first President adjourn'd them 'til Monday. In the Interim out comes an Arret of Council, forbidding the Parliament to take Cognizance of the Affair in Question, which, by that Arret the King reserves to himself. Upon Publication of that Arret, the Parliament immediately assembled again, and a Motion was made for a Remonstrance to the K. upon the Evocation of that Affair; but the President quickly adjourn'd them, and has continued to do so from Day to Day ever since: so that there is a general Suspension of Business in that Court. How this Matter will end, is now the Attention of the Publick.
