SIXTY MILLION ROAD BILL IS ENACTED BY MISSISSIPPIANS

JACKSON, Miss., Feb. 8. (UP)

The legislature last night tendered to Gov. Hugh White its finally enacted $60,000,000 road building bill and, turned to other affairs while the governor waited for better bids than submitted by John Nuveen & Co., Syndicate, Chicago.

New York bond interests, associated with the Wallace Rodgers' estate of Laurel and represented by John H. Jones, telephoned White that they would have a bid by Tuesday noon on the first series of $33,688,000 bonds. White said he would wait until Wednesday, at least, for any offers.

The senate passed bills which included the house measure outlawing slot machines and amended it to increase penalty for second offense to maximum of six months and $500.
