SOIL CONSERVATION NOTES

Tobacco Valley soil conservation district leader, A. S. Erickson, states that about four tons of treble super-phosphate fertilizer has been received. This was a surplus of the amount of fertilizer shipped to the Eastern portion of the state and was donated to the supervisors of the Tobacco Valley district and the supervisors of this district will in turn donate the fertilizer for demonstration purposes to farmers cooperating in the soil conservation project. In addition to the phosphate, the supervisors also received 86 lbs. of beardless wheat grass, 50 lbs. of western wheat grass, 131½ lbs. of Siberian wheat grass and 100 lbs. of slender wheat grass. Like the fertilizer, these grass seeds will be donated for observation purposes to farmers cooperating in soil conservation.
