TENNESSEE LEGISLATURE.

The following resolutions were adopted during the last week:

A resolution requesting the Governor to give to the general government information when the 3500 men, authorised by the act published in our last paper to be called into service, would be ready to act; and to accompany such information with a request that the said troops be immediately received into the public service of the United States.

Resolved, That a joint committee be appointed to take under consideration the disputed line between this state and the state of Kentucky. Which was concurred with, and a committee appointed accordingly, who have the same now under consideration.

Resolved, That the Executive of this state be, and he is hereby authorised, if in his opinion it shall be necessary, to appoint a confidential agent to proceed to the Choctaw nation of Indians, and there in concert with the United States' agent to that nation, endeavor, by all the means in his or their power, to secure the observance of a strict neutrality by them in the war just commenced by the Creek nation of Indians against the U. States.

Resolved furthermore, That the executive of this state be requested to solicit the general government to employ the Choctaw, Cherokee & Chickasaw nations of Indians, or either of them, to act against the Creek Indians, in the event said Choctaw, Cherokee and Chickasaw nations of Indians shall manifest a determination to engage in the war, on the one side or the other.

Resolved, that a joint committee be appointed to take into consideration the subject of the Direct taxes, and enquire into the expediency of adopting some mode to cause such tax to bear more equally upon the different counties; and the expediency of this state's assuming the debt demanded by the general government; and make some regulations, if necessary, for the collection of such sum: and that they have leave to report by bill or otherwise.
